BEGINNINGS

The Seddon family have been farming in area for generations. Gary's great grandfather used to farm on Martin Mere, growing for the local market. He moved off the mere and to the village of Holmeswood and the family have been farming in Holmeswood ever since.

When Gary and Margaret first got married they rented a small holding in Maghull, approximately 11 miles from the current site, growing potatoes and leeks; as well as helping his father at his farm in Holmeswood.

COMING HOME TO HOLMESWOOD

In 1984 Gary and Margaret had the opportunity to rent the farm opposite his father and they moved to our current site and grew a variety of vegetables.

Some years later they had the opportunity to buy the farm. Over the years the family began to specialise in growing mainly leeks and their three sons, Paul, Richard and James, joined the company.

WHEN THE BOYS CAME HOME

Gradually, for different reasons, all three sons came home to work on the farm. This has allowed us to expand the business, innovate in production techniques and move into recyclable packaging.

Each son has an area of expertise as well as working together to provide the best produce possible and improve the overall customer service and product to the industry.
